Artwork auctioned at four times the upper estimate price
The work Speed Underground by Alan Rogers was worth GBP 3,250.00 (€ 3,883.75) to a buyer in November 2010. This price was achieved in the auction Travel and Vintage Posters at Christies in London and exceeded the previously set upper estimate of GBP 800.00 many times over. Despite this good result, it is not the highest hammer price for an artwork by Alan Rogers; that achieved among the auctions we observed the lot Speed Underground sold at auction in October 2012 with the realized price of GBP 6,000.00 (€ 7,459.95).
