Auction result well in line with expectations
In November 2018 Christies in New York held the auction Impressionist and Modern Art Evening Sale Including Property from the Collection of Herbert and Adele Klapper, which included the work Le Chat by Alberto Giacometti. It changed hands for a price of USD 17,187,500.00 (€ 15,179,281.11) achieving a result in the upper range of the estimate price range of USD 14,000,000.00 – 18,000,000.00. Admittedly, works by Alberto Giacometti have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work L'homme au doigt in May 2015 with an auction result of USD 141,285,000.00 (€ 128,511,006.00).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im November 2018 führte Christies in New York die Auktion Impressionist and Modern Art Evening Sale Including Property from the Collection of Herbert and Adele Klapper durch, in der auch die Arbeit Le Chat von Alberto Giacometti zur Versteigerung kam. Dabei wechselte sie für einen Preis von USD 17.187.500,00 (€ 15.179.281,11) den Besitzer und erzielte damit ein Ergebnis im oberen Bereich der Schätzpreisspanne von USD 14.000.000,00 – 18.000.000,00. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Alberto Giacometti auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit L'homme au doigt im Mai 2015 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 141.285.000,00 (€ 128.511.006,00).
