Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Torse De Femme by Alexander Archipenko was sold in the Impressionist & Modern Art Day Sale auction at Christies in New York in May 2021. The price achieved of USD 37,500.00 (€ 30,752.83) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as USD 30,000.00 – 50,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Alexander Archipenko achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Woman in June 2005 with an auction result of GBP 1,464,000.00 (€ 2,169,740.45).

Die Arbeit Torse De Femme von Alexander Archipenko wurde im Mai 2021 in der Auktion Impressionist & Modern Art Day Sale bei Christies in New York versteigert. Der dabei erzielte Preis von USD 37.500,00 (€ 30.752,83) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit USD 30.000,00 – 50.000,00 angegeben worden. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Alexander Archipenko erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Woman im Juni 2005 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 1.464.000,00 (€ 2.169.740,45).
