Auction result well in line with expectations
The work The Masked Ball by Alexander Goudie was auctioned at Sothebys in London in May 2012. The price achieved of GBP 11,875.00 (€ 14,795.73) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 10,000.00 – 15,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Alexander Goudie - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Still Life With Fruit And Flowers By Lamplight, which sold at auction in August 2006 for GBP 21,600.00 (€ 32,120.57).

Der dabei erzielte Preis von GBP 11.875,00 (€ 14.795,73) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit GBP 10.000,00 – 15.000,00 angegeben worden. Für andere Arbeiten von Alexander Goudie mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Still Life With Fruit And Flowers By Lamplight beobachtet, die im August 2006 für GBP 21.600,00 (€ 32.120,57) versteigert wurde.
