Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Tête de femme aux yeux clairs de face avec les deux mains by André Derain was sold in the The Robin and Rupert Hambro Collection auction at Christies in London in June this year. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 500.00 – 700.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 504.00 (€ 586.57) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by André Derain achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Arbres À Collioure in June 2010 with an auction result of GBP 16,281,250.00 (€ 19,799,515.40).
The Robin and Rupert Hambro Collection bei Christies in London versteigert.
