Auction result well in line with expectations
In May 2015 Sothebys in London held the auction Photographs, which included the work 'Hong Kong Port', 1994 by Andreas Gursky. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 35,000.00 – 55,000.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 37,500.00 (€ 52,139.80) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Andreas Gursky achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work 99 Cent Ii, Diptych in February 2007 with an auction result of GBP 1,700,000.00 (€ 2,520,188.96).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im Mai 2015 führte Sothebys in London die Auktion Photographs durch, in der auch die Arbeit 'Hong Kong Port', 1994 von Andreas Gursky zur Versteigerung kam. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 35.000,00 – 55.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von GBP 37.500,00 (€ 52.139,80) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Andreas Gursky erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit 99 Cent Ii, Diptych im Februar 2007 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 1.700.000,00 (€ 2.520.188,96).
