Auction result well in line with expectations
In October 2014 Christies in London held the auction Essl: 44 Works, which included the work Kuwait Stock Exchange I by Andreas Gursky. The price achieved of GBP 602,500.00 (€ 769,305.47) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 500,000.00 – 700,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Andreas Gursky - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work 99 Cent Ii, Diptych, which sold at auction in February 2007 for GBP 1,700,000.00 (€ 2,520,188.96).
