Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work “Double self portrait” by Andy Warhol was auctioned at Bruun Rasmussen in August this year, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of DKK 15,000.00 – 20,000.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for DKK 10,500.00 (€ 1,408.52). Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Andy Warhol achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Shot Sage Blue Marilyn in May last year with an auction result of USD 195,040,000.00 (€ 181,753,797.41).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Als die Arbeit “Double self portrait” von Andy Warhol im August diesen Jahres bei Bruun Rasmussen versteigert wurde, fiel das Ergebnis ein wenig enttäuschend aus. Das Auktionshaus hatte den Schätzpreis zuvor mit einer Spanne von DKK 15.000,00 – 20.000,00 angegeben, von der nicht einmal die Untergrenze erreicht wurde - tatsächlich wechselte das Kunstwerk für DKK 10.500,00 (€ 1.408,52) den Besitzer. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Andy Warhol erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Shot Sage Blue Marilyn im Mai letzten Jahres mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 195.040.000,00 (€ 181.753.797,41).
