Auction result well in line with expectations
The work 8=8, 1969 by Anthony Hill was auctioned at Sothebys in London in June 2015. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 4,000.00 – 6,000.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 4,375.00 (€ 6,168.70) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Admittedly, works by Anthony Hill have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Relief Construction, August - September 1959 in November 2018 with an auction result of GBP 50,000.00 (€ 56,398.48).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit 8=8, 1969 von Anthony Hill kam im Juni 2015 bei Sothebys in London zur Auktion. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 4.000,00 – 6.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von GBP 4.375,00 (€ 6.168,70) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Anthony Hill auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Relief Construction, August - September 1959 im November 2018 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 50.000,00 (€ 56.398,48).
