A top price for Antoine Montfort - as previously expected
In June 2021 Sothebys in Paris held the auction Tableaux Dessins Sculptures 1300-1900, Session I, which included the work A view of Nazareth with Camel drivers by Antoine Montfort. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of EUR 20,000.00 – 30,000.00, the actual price achieved of EUR 21,420.00 could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Even if this result could not surprise positively, A view of Nazareth with Camel drivers is the most expensive artwork by Antoine Montfort that we have observed at auctions so far.
Ein Spitzenpreis mit Ansage
Im Juni 2021 führte Sothebys in Paris die Auktion Tableaux Dessins Sculptures 1300-1900, Session I durch, in der auch die Arbeit A view of Nazareth with Camel drivers von Antoine Montfort zur Versteigerung kam. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von EUR 20.000,00 – 30.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von EUR 21.420,00 konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Auch wenn das Ergebnis damit nicht positiv überraschen konnte, ist A view of Nazareth with Camel drivers das teuerste Kunstwerk von Antoine Montfort, das wir bisher bei Auktionen beobachtet haben.
