In November last year Bonhams in London held the auction Modern and Contemporary South Asian Art, which included the work Untitled (Village Scene) by B. Prabha. The »bidding war« ended at GBP 9,562.50 (€ 11,080.75), 37% above the upper estimate. Admittedly, works by B. Prabha have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work without title in September 2006 with an auction result of USD 90,000.00 (€ 70,938.76).
Oberer Schätzpreis um 37 % übertroffen
Im November letzten Jahres führte Bonhams in London die Auktion Modern and Contemporary South Asian Art durch, in der auch die Arbeit Untitled (Village Scene) von B. Prabha zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von GBP 9.562,50 (€ 11.080,75) und damit 37% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von B. Prabha auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit ohne Titel im September 2006 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 90.000,00 (€ 70.938,76).
