Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Untitled (Woman) by B. Prabha was sold in the Modern and Contemporary South Asian Art auction at Bonhams in Hong Kong in June this year. It changed hands for a price of GBP 24,320.00 (€ 28,304.29) achieving a result in the upper range of the estimate price range of GBP 15,000.00 – 25,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by B. Prabha - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work without title, which sold at auction in September 2006 for USD 90,000.00 (€ 70,938.76).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Untitled (Woman) von B. Prabha wurde im Juni diesen Jahres in der Auktion Modern and Contemporary South Asian Art bei Bonhams in Hong Kong versteigert. Dabei wechselte sie für einen Preis von GBP 24.320,00 (€ 28.304,29) den Besitzer und erzielte damit ein Ergebnis im oberen Bereich der Schätzpreisspanne von GBP 15.000,00 – 25.000,00. Für andere Arbeiten von B. Prabha mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit ohne Titel beobachtet, die im September 2006 für USD 90.000,00 (€ 70.938,76) versteigert wurde.
