Auction result well in line with expectations
In October this year Phillips in London held the auction 20th Century & Contemporary Art Evening Sale, which included the work Forgive Us Our Trespassing by Banksy. It changed hands for a price of GBP 2,710,000.00 (€ 3,111,832.89) achieving a result in the upper range of the estimate price range of GBP 2,200,000.00 – 2,800,000.00. Admittedly, works by Banksy have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Love is in the Bin in October 2021 with an auction result of GBP 18,582,000.00 (€ 22,014,651.32).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im Oktober diesen Jahres führte Phillips in London die Auktion 20th Century & Contemporary Art Evening Sale durch, in der auch die Arbeit Forgive Us Our Trespassing von Banksy zur Versteigerung kam. Dabei wechselte sie für einen Preis von GBP 2.710.000,00 (€ 3.111.832,89) den Besitzer und erzielte damit ein Ergebnis im oberen Bereich der Schätzpreisspanne von GBP 2.200.000,00 – 2.800.000,00. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Banksy auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Love is in the Bin im Oktober 2021 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 18.582.000,00 (€ 22.014.651,32).
