In November 2020 VAN HAM held the auction Fine Art, which included the work Portrait eines Herrn by Bartholomeus van der Helst. The »bidding war« ended at EUR 15,480.00 55% above the estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Bartholomeus van der Helst achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Portrait of Sophia Coymans (1636-1714), three-quarter-length, holding a twig with an orange, before a landscape in July this year with an auction result of GBP 504,000.00 (€ 588,015.25).
Schätzpreis um 55 % übertroffen
Im November 2020 führte VAN HAM die Auktion Fine Art durch, in der auch die Arbeit Portrait eines Herrn von Bartholomeus van der Helst zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von EUR 15.480,00 und damit 55% über dem Schätzpreis. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Bartholomeus van der Helst erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Portrait of Sophia Coymans (1636-1714), three-quarter-length, holding a twig with an orange, before a landscape im Juli diesen Jahres mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 504.000,00 (€ 588.015,25).
