Auction result well in line with expectations
In April 2018 Sothebys in New York held the auction Photographs, which included the work Family Of Negro Sharecropper, Little Rock, Arkansas by Ben Shahn. The price achieved of USD 8,125.00 (€ 6,729.34) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as USD 7,000.00 – 10,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Ben Shahn achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Scabbies are Welcome in September 2006 with an auction result of USD 262,400.00 (€ 206,825.88).
