This artwork by Berenice Abbott achieved an unexpectedly high price at Sothebys in New York in April 2007. In the Photographs auction, the work 'Flatiron Building' sold for USD 15,600.00 (€ 11,420.20) - well above the upper estimate of USD 7,000.00. Admittedly, works by Berenice Abbott have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work New York At Night, 1932 in October 2013 with an auction result of USD 87,500.00 (€ 64,366.63).
Oberer Schätzpreis um mehr als 100% übertroffen
Dieses Kunstwerk von Berenice Abbott erzielte im April 2007 bei Sothebys in New York einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion Photographs wurde die Arbeit 'Flatiron Building' für USD 15.600,00 (€ 11.420,20) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von USD 7.000,00. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Berenice Abbott auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit New York At Night, 1932 im Oktober 2013 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 87.500,00 (€ 64.366,63).
