Auction result well in line with expectations
In August 2001 Christies in London held the auction BRITISH & CONTINENTAL PICTURES, which included the work A naval engagement by Bernard Finegan Gribble. It changed hands for a price of GBP 1,410.00 (€ 2,250.73) achieving a result in the upper range of the estimate price range of GBP 1,000.00 – 1,500.00. Admittedly, works by Bernard Finegan Gribble have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work The return of the Mayflower in July 2006 with an auction result of USD 22,800.00 (€ 17,862.74).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im August 2001 führte Christies in London die Auktion BRITISH & CONTINENTAL PICTURES durch, in der auch die Arbeit A naval engagement von Bernard Finegan Gribble zur Versteigerung kam. Dabei wechselte sie für einen Preis von GBP 1.410,00 (€ 2.250,73) den Besitzer und erzielte damit ein Ergebnis im oberen Bereich der Schätzpreisspanne von GBP 1.000,00 – 1.500,00. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Bernard Finegan Gribble auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit The return of the Mayflower im Juli 2006 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 22.800,00 (€ 17.862,74).
