This artwork by Bernard Meadows achieved an unexpectedly high price at Christies in London in November 2019. In the Outside In: The Dr. Jeffrey Sherwin Collection auction, the work Black Crab sold for GBP 137,500.00 (€ 161,458.62) - well above the upper estimate of GBP 60,000.00. Despite this good result, it is not the highest hammer price for an artwork by Bernard Meadows; that achieved among the auctions we observed the lot Startled Bird sold at auction in November 2013 with the realized price of GBP 134,500.00 (€ 161,852.75).

Dieses Kunstwerk von Bernard Meadows erzielte im November 2019 bei Christies in London einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion Outside In: The Dr. Jeffrey Sherwin Collection wurde die Arbeit Black Crab für GBP 137.500,00 (€ 161.458,62) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von GBP 60.000,00. Trotz des guten Ergebnisses ist dies nicht der höchste Zuschlag für ein Kunstwerk von Bernard Meadows; den erzielte unter den von uns beobachteten Auktionen die Arbeit Startled Bird im November 2013 mit dem Hammerpreis von GBP 134.500,00 (€ 161.852,75).
