Artwork auctioned at three times the upper estimate price
The work Untitled, 1996 by Betye Saar was worth USD 6,950.00 (€ 6,188.23) to a buyer in June 2020. This price was achieved in the auction Made in CaliforniaContemporary Art at Bonhams in Los Angeles and exceeded the previously set upper estimate of USD 2,000.00 many times over. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Betye Saar achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Her Story in May this year with an auction result of USD 315,000.00 (€ 295,663.60).

Die Arbeit Untitled, 1996 von Betye Saar war einem Käufer im Juni 2020 USD 6.950,00 (€ 6.188,23) wert. Dieser Preise wurde in der Auktion Made in CaliforniaContemporary Art bei Bonhams in Los Angeles erzielt und übertraf den zuvor angesetzten oberen Schätzpreis von USD 2.000,00 um ein Vielfaches. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Betye Saar erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Her Story im Mai diesen Jahres mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 315.000,00 (€ 295.663,60).
