Auction result misses estimated price range
In May last year a collector was able to acquire the work For Otis (Back Series) by Brice Marden for USD 3,900,000.00 (€ 3,634,330.44). This price was achieved in the auction The Collection of Thomas and Doris Ammann Evening Sale at Christies in New York and was even below the estimate range of USD 5,000,000.00 – 7,000,000.00 set by the auction house. Admittedly, works by Brice Marden have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work 11 (to Léger) in November 2021 with an auction result of USD 16,999,000.00 (€ 15,060,689.29).
