Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Point by Brice Marden was sold in the The Macklowe Collection auction at Sothebys in New York in November 2021. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of USD 6,000,000.00 – 8,000,000.00, the actual price achieved of USD 6,009,000.00 (€ 5,323,823.87) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Brice Marden - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work 11 (to Léger), which sold at auction in November 2021 for USD 16,999,000.00 (€ 15,060,689.29).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Point von Brice Marden wurde im November 2021 in der Auktion The Macklowe Collection bei Sothebys in New York versteigert. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 6.000.000,00 – 8.000.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von USD 6.009.000,00 (€ 5.323.823,87) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen.
