In March 2018 Christies in New York held the auction Fine Chinese Paintings, which included the work Squirrels by Cai Xian. The »bidding war« ended at USD 2,750.00 (€ 2,232.14), 38% above the upper estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Cai Xian achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Monkeys and Horses in November 2016 with an auction result of HKD 472,000.00 (€ 57,516.35).

Im März 2018 führte Christies in New York die Auktion Fine Chinese Paintings durch, in der auch die Arbeit Squirrels von Cai Xian zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von USD 2.750,00 (€ 2.232,14) und damit 38% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Cai Xian erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Monkeys and Horses im November 2016 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von HKD 472.000,00 (€ 57.516,35).
