A top price for Cai Xian - as previously expected
In November 2016 POLY in Macau held the auction Fine Chinese Paintings and Calligraphy, which included the work Monkeys and Horses by Cai Xian. It changed hands for a price of HKD 472,000.00 (€ 57,516.35) achieving a result in the upper range of the estimate price range of HKD 300,000.00 – 500,000.00. Even if this result could not surprise positively, Monkeys and Horses is the most expensive artwork by Cai Xian that we have observed at auctions so far.
Ein Spitzenpreis mit Ansage
Im November 2016 führte POLY in Macau die Auktion Fine Chinese Paintings and Calligraphy durch, in der auch die Arbeit Monkeys and Horses von Cai Xian zur Versteigerung kam. Dabei wechselte sie für einen Preis von HKD 472.000,00 (€ 57.516,35) den Besitzer und erzielte damit ein Ergebnis im oberen Bereich der Schätzpreisspanne von HKD 300.000,00 – 500.000,00. Auch wenn das Ergebnis damit nicht positiv überraschen konnte, ist Monkeys and Horses das teuerste Kunstwerk von Cai Xian, das wir bisher bei Auktionen beobachtet haben.
