Upper estimated price slightly exceeded
The work Day of Judgement by Carel Weight was sold in the Modern British Art auction at Christies in London in September 2020. Here, the upper estimate of GBP 8,000.00 was slightly exceeded - the artwork found a new owner for GBP 8,125.00 (€ 8,959.13). Admittedly, works by Carel Weight have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work The Thames at Hammersmith in May 2012 with an auction result of GBP 43,250.00 (€ 53,887.60).
Oberer Schätzpreis leicht übertroffen
Die Arbeit Day of Judgement von Carel Weight wurde im September 2020 in der Auktion Modern British Art bei Christies in London versteigert. Dabei wurde der obere Schätzpreis von GBP 8.000,00 leicht übertroffen – das Kunstwerk fand für GBP 8.125,00 (€ 8.959,13) einen neuen Besitzer. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Carel Weight auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit The Thames at Hammersmith im Mai 2012 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 43.250,00 (€ 53.887,60).
