This artwork by Cecil Beaton achieved an unexpectedly high price at Christies in London in October 2013. In the Photographs auction, the work Mel Ferrer, C. 1950 sold for GBP 1,625.00 (€ 1,920.74) - well above the upper estimate of GBP 900.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Cecil Beaton achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Audrey Hepburn as Eliza Doolittle, 1963 in September 2017 with an auction result of GBP 93,750.00 (€ 106,360.58).

In der Auktion Photographs wurde die Arbeit Mel Ferrer, C. 1950 für GBP 1.625,00 (€ 1.920,74) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von GBP 900,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Cecil Beaton erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Audrey Hepburn as Eliza Doolittle, 1963 im September 2017 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 93.750,00 (€ 106.360,58).
