Auction result well in line with expectations
The work La Cathedrale by Shafic Abboud was auctioned at Christies in Dubai in October 2008. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of USD 130,000.00 – 180,000.00, the actual price achieved of USD 134,500.00 (€ 106,055.83) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Admittedly, works by Shafic Abboud have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Villa des Iris in November this year with an auction result of GBP 381,400.00 (€ 441,959.66).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit La Cathedrale von Shafic Abboud kam im Oktober 2008 bei Christies in Dubai zur Auktion. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 130.000,00 – 180.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von USD 134.500,00 (€ 106.055,83) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Shafic Abboud auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Villa des Iris im November diesen Jahres mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 381.400,00 (€ 441.959,66).
