Auction result well in line with expectations

In April 2001 Christies in New York held the auction PROPERTY FROM MANHEIM GALLERIES, NEW ORLEANS, LOUISIANA, which included the work Putti amidst clouds by Charles Augustus Henry Lutyens. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of USD 2,000.00 – 4,000.00, the actual price achieved of USD 2,350.00 (€ 2,648.19) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Charles Augustus Henry Lutyens - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Putti disporting in the clouds, which sold at auction in November 2000 for GBP 3,525.00 (€ 5,761.47).

Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen

Im April 2001 führte Christies in New York die Auktion PROPERTY FROM MANHEIM GALLERIES, NEW ORLEANS, LOUISIANA durch, in der auch die Arbeit Putti amidst clouds von Charles Augustus Henry Lutyens zur Versteigerung kam. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 2.000,00 – 4.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von USD 2.350,00 (€ 2.648,19) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Für andere Arbeiten von Charles Augustus Henry Lutyens mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Putti disporting in the clouds beobachtet, die im November 2000 für GBP 3.525,00 (€ 5.761,47) versteigert wurde.
