Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work Boats at Rest, November Morning by Charles Henry Fromuth was auctioned at Christies in New York in November 2005, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of USD 2,000.00 – 3,000.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for USD 1,920.00 (€ 1,628.50). Admittedly, works by Charles Henry Fromuth have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Docked Fishing Boats in March 2006 with an auction result of USD 8,400.00 (€ 6,919.85).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Als die Arbeit Boats at Rest, November Morning von Charles Henry Fromuth im November 2005 bei Christies in New York versteigert wurde, fiel das Ergebnis ein wenig enttäuschend aus. Das Auktionshaus hatte den Schätzpreis zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 2.000,00 – 3.000,00 angegeben, von der nicht einmal die Untergrenze erreicht wurde - tatsächlich wechselte das Kunstwerk für USD 1.920,00 (€ 1.628,50) den Besitzer. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Charles Henry Fromuth auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Docked Fishing Boats im März 2006 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 8.400,00 (€ 6.919,85).
