Auction result well in line with expectations
In March 2003 Christies in New York held the auction AN IMPORTANT COLLECTION OF JAPANESE PRINTS, which included the work Kyoto, 1916 by Charles Bartlett. The price achieved of USD 1,792.50 (€ 1,644.50) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as USD 1,500.00 – 2,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Charles Bartlett achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Surf Riders, Honolulu, circa 1921 in September last year with an auction result of USD 31,875.00 (€ 32,582.03).
