Artwork auctioned at three times the upper estimate price
When this work without title by Chen Junde was auctioned at Sothebys in Hong Kong in May last year, the result exceeded expectations many times over. The upper estimate was set at a - in retrospect quite modest - HKD 100,000.00 but the actual price achieved was more than three times as high at HKD 302,400.00 (€ 35,901.37). Despite this good result, it is not the highest hammer price for an artwork by Chen Junde; that achieved among the auctions we observed the lot View At The Mountain Top (Painted In 2003) sold at auction in April 2021 with the realized price of HKD 448,400.00 (€ 48,008.25).
Kunstwerk zum Dreifachen des oberen Schätzpreises versteigert
Als die Arbeit ohne Titel von Chen Junde im Mai letzten Jahres bei Sothebys in Hong Kong versteigert wurde, übertraf das Ergebnis die Erwartungen um ein Vielfaches. Der obere Schätzpreis war mit – rückwirkend betrachtet recht bescheidenen – HKD 100.000,00 angesetzt, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis hingegen war mit HKD 302.400,00 (€ 35.901,37) mehr als dreimal so hoch. Trotz des guten Ergebnisses ist dies nicht der höchste Zuschlag für ein Kunstwerk von Chen Junde; den erzielte unter den von uns beobachteten Auktionen die Arbeit View At The Mountain Top (Painted In 2003) im April 2021 mit dem Hammerpreis von HKD 448.400,00 (€ 48.008,25).
