Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Lady by Cheong Soo Pieng was sold in the Asian 20th Century Art (Day Sale) auction at Christies in Hong Kong in November 2017. The price achieved of HKD 350,000.00 (€ 37,682.80) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as HKD 280,000.00 – 380,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Cheong Soo Pieng achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Nature's Inspiration in November this year with an auction result of HKD 11,507,000.00 (€ 1,350,289.70).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Lady von Cheong Soo Pieng wurde im November 2017 in der Auktion Asian 20th Century Art (Day Sale) bei Christies in Hong Kong versteigert. Der dabei erzielte Preis von HKD 350.000,00 (€ 37.682,80) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit HKD 280.000,00 – 380.000,00 angegeben worden. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Cheong Soo Pieng erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Nature's Inspiration im November diesen Jahres mit einem Auktionsergebnis von HKD 11.507.000,00 (€ 1.350.289,70).
