Upper estimate price exceeded by more than 100%
This artwork by Cheong Soo Pieng achieved an unexpectedly high price at Christies in Hong Kong in October 2014. In the Asia+ / First Open auction, the work Unknown sold for HKD 500,000.00 (€ 51,476.46) - well above the upper estimate of HKD 240,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Cheong Soo Pieng achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Nature's Inspiration in November this year with an auction result of HKD 11,507,000.00 (€ 1,350,289.70).
Oberer Schätzpreis um mehr als 100% übertroffen
Dieses Kunstwerk von Cheong Soo Pieng erzielte im Oktober 2014 bei Christies in Hong Kong einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion Asia+ / First Open wurde die Arbeit Unknown für HKD 500.000,00 (€ 51.476,46) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von HKD 240.000,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Cheong Soo Pieng erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Nature's Inspiration im November diesen Jahres mit einem Auktionsergebnis von HKD 11.507.000,00 (€ 1.350.289,70).
