This artwork by Chiharu Shiota achieved an unexpectedly high price at Christies in Hong Kong in December last year. In the 21st Century Art Day Sale auction, the work Silent Explosion V sold for HKD 1,386,000.00 (€ 166,091.98) - well above the upper estimate of HKD 500,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Chiharu Shiota - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work State of Being, which sold at auction in July 2021 for GBP 287,500.00 (€ 337,153.36).
Oberer Schätzpreis um mehr als 100% übertroffen
Dieses Kunstwerk von Chiharu Shiota erzielte im Dezember letzten Jahres bei Christies in Hong Kong einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion 21st Century Art Day Sale wurde die Arbeit Silent Explosion V für HKD 1.386.000,00 (€ 166.091,98) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von HKD 500.000,00. Für andere Arbeiten von Chiharu Shiota mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit State of Being beobachtet, die im Juli 2021 für GBP 287.500,00 (€ 337.153,36) versteigert wurde.
