This price was achieved in the auction An Auction to Benefit the Kolkata Museum of Modern Art at Sothebys in New York and exceeded the previously set upper estimate of USD 4,500.00 many times over. Admittedly, works by Chintan Upadhyay have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Together For Life Whether We Like It Or Not in October 2008 with an auction result of HKD 1,100,000.00 (€ 111,890.87).
