In December 2012 a collector was able to acquire the work Tribal Drummers, Lukulu, Zambia, 1996 by Chris Johns for USD 562.50 (€ 426.59). This price was achieved in the auction The National Geographic Collection: The Art of Exploration at Christies in New York and was even below the estimate range of USD 700.00 – 900.00 set by the auction house. Admittedly, works by Chris Johns have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Camels, Rift Valley, 1988 in December 2012 with an auction result of USD 3,250.00 (€ 2,464.74).
