Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Red House At Passy by Christopher Wood was auctioned at Sothebys in London in November 2020. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 100,000.00 – 150,000.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 100,800.00 (€ 112,526.82) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Admittedly, works by Christopher Wood have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Drying Sails, Mousehole, Cornwall in June last year with an auction result of GBP 479,100.00 (€ 556,577.92).
