Auction result misses estimated price range
This work of art by Claude Monet could be acquired at Christies in Hong Kong in November 2017 for an unexpectedly low price. In the Dear Monsieur Monet auction, the work La mer et les nuages changed hands for HKD 1,375,000.00 (€ 148,039.59) - missing the lower end of the estimate range of HKD 1,500,000.00 – 2,500,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Claude Monet achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Meules in May 2019 with an auction result of USD 110,747,000.00 (€ 99,333,572.52).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Dieses Kunstwerk von Claude Monet konnte im November 2017 bei Christies in Hong Kong für einen unerwartet niedrigen Preis ersteigert werden. In der Auktion Dear Monsieur Monet wechselte die Arbeit La mer et les nuages für HKD 1.375.000,00 (€ 148.039,59) den Besitzer – und verfehlte damit das untere Ende der Schätzpreisspanne von HKD 1.500.000,00 – 2.500.000,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Claude Monet erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Meules im Mai 2019 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 110.747.000,00 (€ 99.333.572,52).
