This artwork by Barbara Hepworth achieved an unexpectedly high price at Sothebys in London in December 2010. In the 20th Century British Art auction, the work Coré sold for GBP 445,250.00 (€ 516,488.66) - well above the upper estimate of GBP 250,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Barbara Hepworth achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work The Family of Man: Ancestor II in November this year with an auction result of USD 11,565,000.00 (€ 10,602,310.23).
