Auction result well in line with expectations
The work The Severed Head of Medusa by Damien Hirst was auctioned at Christies in London in December this year. The price achieved of GBP 567,000.00 (€ 653,162.27) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 500,000.00 – 700,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Damien Hirst achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Lullaby Spring in June 2007 with an auction result of GBP 9,652,000.00 (€ 14,323,082.54).
