Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Vertical Cloud Study #2, Catskill Midday by David Bierk was auctioned at Sothebys in Toronto in November 2012. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of CAD 12,000.00 – 18,000.00, the actual price achieved of CAD 13,200.00 (€ 10,216.05) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by David Bierk - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work A Eulogy To Life, To Manet, To Gauguin, which sold at auction in May 2012 for CAD 26,400.00 (€ 20,630.60).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Vertical Cloud Study #2, Catskill Midday von David Bierk kam im November 2012 bei Sothebys in Toronto zur Auktion. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von CAD 12.000,00 – 18.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von CAD 13.200,00 (€ 10.216,05) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Für andere Arbeiten von David Bierk mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit A Eulogy To Life, To Manet, To Gauguin beobachtet, die im Mai 2012 für CAD 26.400,00 (€ 20.630,60) versteigert wurde.
