Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Study For Portrait Of An Artist (Pool With Two Figures) by David Hockney was sold in the Modern & Post-War British Art auction at Sothebys in London in June 2017. The price achieved of GBP 125,000.00 (€ 142,351.68) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 100,000.00 – 150,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by David Hockney achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Nichols Canyon in December 2020 with an auction result of USD 41,067,500.00 (€ 33,579,313.16).
