Upper estimate price exceeded by 100 %.
This artwork by David Hockney achieved an unexpectedly high price at Christies in London in October this year. In the Prints and Multiples auction, the work Illustrations for Six Fairy Tales from the Brothers Grimm sold for USD 119,700.00 (€ 113,266.46) - well above the upper estimate of USD 60,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by David Hockney achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Nichols Canyon in December 2020 with an auction result of USD 41,067,500.00 (€ 33,579,313.16).
