Auction result well in line with expectations
In October this year Christies in London held the auction Prints and Multiples, which included the work Illustrations for Six Fairy Tales from the Brothers Grimm by David Hockney. The price achieved of USD 17,640.00 (€ 16,691.90) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as USD 15,000.00 – 20,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by David Hockney achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Nichols Canyon in December 2020 with an auction result of USD 41,067,500.00 (€ 33,579,313.16).
