Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work Jean Arp dans son atelier, Clamart-Meudon, 1954 by Denise Colomb was auctioned at Christies in Paris in June 2020, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of EUR 500.00 – 700.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for EUR 375.00. Admittedly, works by Denise Colomb have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work „Giacometti“. in June 2015 with an auction result of EUR 1,750.00.
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Als die Arbeit Jean Arp dans son atelier, Clamart-Meudon, 1954 von Denise Colomb im Juni 2020 bei Christies in Paris versteigert wurde, fiel das Ergebnis ein wenig enttäuschend aus. Das Auktionshaus hatte den Schätzpreis zuvor mit einer Spanne von EUR 500,00 – 700,00 angegeben, von der nicht einmal die Untergrenze erreicht wurde - tatsächlich wechselte das Kunstwerk für EUR 375,00 den Besitzer. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Denise Colomb auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit „Giacometti“. im Juni 2015 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von EUR 1.750,00.
