Auction result well in line with expectations
In May 2012 Sothebys in Paris held the auction Photographies, which included the work Charlie Parker by Dennis Stock. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of EUR 4,000.00 – 6,000.00, the actual price achieved of EUR 4,375.00 could thus just exceed the lower estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Dennis Stock - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work 'A Memorial Portfolio: James Dean', which sold at auction in October 2013 for USD 20,000.00 (€ 14,712.37).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im Mai 2012 führte Sothebys in Paris die Auktion Photographies durch, in der auch die Arbeit Charlie Parker von Dennis Stock zur Versteigerung kam. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von EUR 4.000,00 – 6.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von EUR 4.375,00 konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Für andere Arbeiten von Dennis Stock mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit 'A Memorial Portfolio: James Dean' beobachtet, die im Oktober 2013 für USD 20.000,00 (€ 14.712,37) versteigert wurde.
