This artwork by Derek Jarman achieved an unexpectedly high price at Christies in London in November 2010. In the Christie's Interiors auction, the work Sketch for Caravaggio sold for GBP 3,500.00 (€ 4,182.49) - well above the upper estimate of GBP 1,200.00. Admittedly, works by Derek Jarman have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Sightless in October 2001 with an auction result of GBP 18,800.00 (€ 30,383.54).
Oberer Schätzpreis um mehr als 100% übertroffen
Dieses Kunstwerk von Derek Jarman erzielte im November 2010 bei Christies in London einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion Christie's Interiors wurde die Arbeit Sketch for Caravaggio für GBP 3.500,00 (€ 4.182,49) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von GBP 1.200,00. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Derek Jarman auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Sightless im Oktober 2001 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 18.800,00 (€ 30.383,54).
