Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Venise by Edmund Dulac was sold in the Victorian, Pre-Raphaelite & British Impressionist Art auction at Christies in London in December 2015. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 6,000.00 – 8,000.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 6,250.00 (€ 8,487.20) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Admittedly, works by Edmund Dulac have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work The Little Mermaid (At the mere sight of the bright liquid they drew back in terror) in June 2010 with an auction result of GBP 55,250.00 (€ 67,189.14).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Venise von Edmund Dulac wurde im Dezember 2015 in der Auktion Victorian, Pre-Raphaelite & British Impressionist Art bei Christies in London versteigert. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 6.000,00 – 8.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von GBP 6.250,00 (€ 8.487,20) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Edmund Dulac auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit The Little Mermaid (At the mere sight of the bright liquid they drew back in terror) im Juni 2010 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 55.250,00 (€ 67.189,14).
