Auction result misses estimated price range
This work of art by Édouard-Denis Baldus could be acquired at Christies in New York in July 2018 for an unexpectedly low price. In the MoMA: Tracing Photography's History auction, the work Pavillon Richelieu, Louvre, 1855–1856 changed hands for USD 750.00 (€ 640.70) - missing the lower end of the estimate range of USD 2,000.00 – 3,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Édouard-Denis Baldus achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Chemin De Fer De Paris À Lyon Et À La Méditerranée', 1861 - 1863 in November 2014 with an auction result of EUR 47,100.00.
