Auction result misses estimated price range
In November 2000 a collector was able to acquire the work By firelight by Edwin Harris for GBP 14,100.00 (€ 23,045.89). This price was achieved in the auction 20TH CENTURY BRITISH ART at Christies in London and was even below the estimate range of GBP 15,000.00 – 25,000.00 set by the auction house. Admittedly, works by Edwin Harris have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Under The Blossom That Hangs On The Bough in June 2001 with an auction result of GBP 130,250.00 (€ 216,371.16).
