This artwork by Egon Schiele achieved an unexpectedly high price at Bonhams in London in April this year. In the Impressionist & Modern Art auction, the work Porträt einer Dame sold for GBP 107,400 (€ 128,071) - well above the upper estimate of GBP 60,000. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Egon Schiele achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Häuser Mit Bunter Wäsche (Vorstadt Ii) Houses With Laundry (Suburb Ii) in June 2011 with an auction result of GBP 24,681,250 (€ 27,305,215).
Oberer Schätzpreis um 79% übertroffen
Dieses Kunstwerk von Egon Schiele erzielte im April diesen Jahres bei Bonhams in London einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion Impressionist & Modern Art wurde die Arbeit Porträt einer Dame für GBP 107.400 (€ 128.071) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von GBP 60.000. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Egon Schiele erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Häuser Mit Bunter Wäsche (Vorstadt Ii) Houses With Laundry (Suburb Ii) im Juni 2011 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 24.681.250 (€ 27.305.215).
